I tried Hawks, they didn't like the "awful" vocals

The two friends that I'm talking about are already into metal, the one is into extreme metal already too just not very in depth. What I'm getting at is that the vox were not a problem haha.

Vocals fit the music perfectly. But yeah, I know my brother who is only into shit like Lamb of God and Pantera (who I also really enjoy) calls this the worst vocals ever and is bored to tears by the music. That's why I'm the cooler younger brother. Plus, he's 33 and I'm not 30 yet so hah.

Yeah dude see I also played them Edge of Sanity, Amorphis, Gorguts, Ulcerate, and Cryptopsy and they dug all of them. Only band I played that they weren't big on was Demilich because of the vox, which is understandable for someone first hearing them hahaha.

haha nice.

I have a friend who had never heard Death or Agalloch until I introduced them to him. Most people I know outside of sput have the worst taste in music

Yeah, Demilich took me years of trying to get into them and I love death metal. It was really because of the insistence of some Sputnik users that I gave them such a repeated listening, honestly. They rule, though.

I used to have mostly friends that listen to metal, but now I only have a few and one of them doesn't even live in my state anymore. Mostly you guys as well, group hug

my bandmates listen to metal but not to the extent i do, mainly just stoner/doom/post metal and im really trying to broaden their scope without seeming like a pretentious dickhead. Apart from that I've got one friend into deftones and were catching them live in a few weeks but theyre hardly metal

My brother only listens to super mainstream stuff, but I can relate to him on Slayer, Lamb of God, etc.

So that's fun.

I can never understand guys that are into metal but are so closed minded when it comes to vocal styles they are not used to
