Anti-post-rock sounds great, get on it zak. You might not come back after staring too deeply into that abyss, though.

I might listen to this, how long does it take for anything meaningful to happen?

Yeah I like this one but what’s with the rant from that Blaise fellow? I assumed it had some historical context but apparently it’s just a random guy the band interviewed.

Yeah this one rules, much more enjoyable than Skinny Fists or Yanqui (from memory), need to jam F#a# now.

Moya is incredible, best of the two tracks for me. I think the rant by that guy is what will ultimately prevent me from giving this classic status.

I just love how interspersed within the rant is essentially 3 pieces of absolute classic Godspeed
also how well the music fits that interview. creates such a senseof dread, can't get more perfect really

MO hit the nail on the head.

It works, I'm just not that interested in what he's saying & that's more impactful on my overall impression of the music than 'regular' lyrics would be.
He ripped the poem from Iron Maiden apparently, which is amusing.

I have an iota of sympathy for his disillusionment with greater society but I'm not completely on his side. Also the apocalyptic nature of music doesn't quite match the strength of the dialogue, it sounds like the world is about to end whereas really it's not, he's just ranting about society & what he doesn't agree with.
I love the instrumentals though & it's a minor gripe, hence my rating.

"But d'you think the end of the world is coming?"
"No. So says the preacher man but... I don't go by what he says."
However, the BBFIII rant is kinda hit and miss for me depending on my mood. I either find it annoying or hilarious.

Yeah I can see the ‘annoying or hilarious’ aspect, I’m probably more neutral towards it but leaning slightly one way or the other depending on my mood. I wouldn’t say it’s ever outright annoying though.

Yeah the thing itself is not really that annoying, more the guy himself and his way of talking, if that makes sense
