Not centrally around the atmosphere, but the production really helped it to be atmospheric

GR has great atmosphere thanks to the production, but in the songs themselves as well. It all sounds very gothic, particularly The Grand Conjuration.

I did love Heritage. Best out of the new 3 but something about Damnation puts it in it's own league. Out of everything after Still Life and BP Damnation, Heritage, and Ghost Reveries are probably the best imo.

Damnation has an accomplished warmth and beauty that their recent "clean" efforts can't hold a candle to

Very well put.

Heritage is a lot warmer to my ears.

Album Rating: 4.5
Heritage has an incredibly warm production, but the music itself is rather harsh and uncomfortable a lot of the time

Heritage is definitely warmer and also just a more interesting album generally
I used to love this to bits but now I hear some pretty glaring flaws in it

What the heck? This album fits perfectly to my November-ish mood. If we're going to talk about quiter offerings, then I consider this to be first, tied with Heritage. Sorceress follows and PC is far behind.

its probably their worst along with deliverance though

Shadow, are you including their newest 3 in that? Master Apprentice alone is better than their new 3 albums.
