the title track sounds weird. the ending sounds sort of bare compared to the original, which has so much shit going on, or so it sounds like.
also i kind of like how chaotic-sounding the screams were in last light in the original. that was an intense moment. they're so much clearer here. it's certainly not bad, just different. need some time to adjust

it's definitely a grower album, but i'm not sure how purpose plays into that. it was mostly getting past the abrasion and appreciating the riffs and the drumming and the cohesiveness of the instruments for me.
