Yep, I definitely get you there. I did do hallucinogenics and so when I listen to psychedelic music it adds something for sure, I don’t actually need to be under the influence anymore. The memory is enough. Not quite the same obviously as I have that former ‘experience’ yet I don’t need to get high to experience it these days

Jesus Christ lolol can’t tell anymore if tool fans are making a mockery of themselves anymore (no thank you egarran to your smart ass response)

Pretending to be earnest in the face of mockery is the only chance Eg gets to feel smart these days, do not snatch it away from him

I would’ve just looked real angry, put a big smile on, walk up real close, lick my lips and say “You know what Smiths do to Rocks?”

It’s like pushing big cubes of limestone and sandstone across the desert, but we’ll get there

It feels good being nice to Tool haters. They get so little love.

Yeah? I’m not sure if I’ve seen many praise the Tool haters. I think Tool are mostly just okay. They’re mid+

I think aenima is worthy of any acclaim it gets. Lateralus is just for heady people to wet their whistles

I only read like 4 pages back. I’ve been keeping up since like 690. Can’t imagine all I’m missing in the first 600

Aenima was the album that tool was able to write. Lateralus was the album tool WANTED to write (keeping in mind that Maynard is a pretentious douche bag with admittably good intentions)

People say this is long and tedious but I find it such a smooth and easy listen. CCT is the only speed bump. Invincible was a great self-reflection for Tool in 2019

On one hand I'm happy they didn't go into buttrock territory with it but on the other hand it feels on the lazy side for them, just kind of Tool making long Tool-ass jams and taking 15 years to do it. I still really enjoy it especially sitting down for a proper vinyl listen with nice headphones and there are moments, especially seeing them live+tripping a bit, that really do blow me away, but for the most part a lot of it feels safe for them and while I enjoy the sparse vocals it feels like Maynard phoned it in a lil bit in parts.
