vocals are the best and if you say otherwise you're a massive pussy

the clean vocals are used sparsely and it's appropriate that way. really though i don't think bannon's style is much of a departure from other well-known 90s metalcore bands. rorschach, unruh etc. are pretty similar

it's normal to need time to adjust to Bannon screaming if you are not used to extreme metal singing techniques. It is somewhat similar to the banshee screaming of black metal, but on hardcore tracks

The instrumentals don't do it all for me tbh, the drums are pretty great tho. without these vox this lp definitely wouldn't have the bite and appeal it has for me

'Not a fan of how it's just screaming, would like some clean vocals thrown in for good mixture. This isn't really my genre anyways, thought I'd jam it out of interest.'
Check out You Fail Me instead. There aren't a lot of cleans (thank god) but Bannon is slightly more varied in his approach there, imo.
I've been listening to this album quite a bit lately and even though it totally starts strong, the last 5-6 tracks really shine for me.

Thaw is beautiful. A coupe years ago, I had a dream and the first 4 or 5 seconds of that track would play in my dream.(Like the dissonant intro) I didn't know this album too well at the time, so when I woke up it took me a bit to figure out what I was hearing in my sleep. I hadn't even heard the album in a month or two. I've always thought that was pretty unusual, none of my friends I asked have heard music in their dreams before, let alone one they weren't very familiar with.

That has actually happened to me a lot of times, but with different songs. I have also had dreams where I'm listening to music, like in the background while I'm doing whatever-the-fuck in my dream, and it is clearly a certain band, but I can't decipher a specific song. Shit is weird.
Happened with Deftones when Gore came out and I had to listen to the album the next day to see if I could find out what I was hearing. Never did figure it out though. Just know I was listening to a Deftones song that may not exist.

Hmm, which version of Jane Doe is considered the "best"?
EDIT: I think the version I have is slower than the normal version. S/T is 15+
