To the best of my knowledge, most (if not all) nu metal bands have never been known for possessing much lyrical depth beyond whining about how crappy the singers' childhoods were or why they should point the blame at everyone and everything except themselves. I get it, this is meant to be relatable, but by beating a message like that into the ground, the subjects grow more stale and obnoxious as time passes.

While I don't really have a disdain for the genre itself, the lyrical themes are a big reason for why I'm biased towards said style of music.

"Only weirdos think MTM is better"

"Yeah MtM is by far the worst"

Ugh, probably my 3rd weird opinion today...MtM presents more varied songwriting, functions much better as a whole album (this is the definition of "a collection of songs"), nothing is quite as bad as the more juvenile moments here (One Step Closer comes to mind), and I actually like a few tracks off there, where the only tracks worth the tiniest piece of shit here are Papercut and Cure For the Itch. If you ask me, it absolutely kills this in every single way, and it's not that I really like it, it's that I borderline hate this.

There are many things that are objectively better than this but any song happens to be playing from this album somewhere I always get a huge explosion of nostalgia. I remember every lyric and I haven't jammed this in like over three years.

I was never really one to prefer metal over heavier stuff when I was younger. Only just this past year have I embraced heavier music to the fullest. Not really the heaviest but Isis is my fav band now I think.
