Thrash is actually incredible when done well (see Voivod and Coroner), but Cannibal Corpse kinda pigeonholed themselves by sticking to straight up osdm for their whole career. Like, the encore for when I saw them was still Hammer Smashed Face and they came out with that over 30 years ago. They never changed and at this point in their tenure, they probably won’t. Like, Death did everything there was to do with dm besides dissodeath and their legacy is better for it. Cannibal Corpse are a one trick pony that you appreciate cause they played significant part in inventing the trick.

Thrash too busy being stagnant and recycling the same stuff like trad, power, most prog than actually innovating... or at least bringing the riffs.

Don't get me wrong I love slayer and Metallica. Demolition hammer there's alot of good thrash. But alot of it sounds exactly the same outside of the better bands

It sounding the same isn’t a bad thing. Bands recycling the same ideas and executing their concepts in a completely dull and uninspired way is fine. Just look at cannibal corpse for example. They sold millions of albums therefore they must be good by default

It annoys me that one needs to marry with Ulcerate to enjoy it. That said this is awesome but far from Stare or EiF by wide margin.
