It isn't as morbid as the cover would suggest at all.

Well yeah 'morbid' isn't the best word but it's definitely dark at least lyrically speaking.

For sure. Definitely pay attention to the lyrics while listening!

There is a light and Boy with the thorn have the best lyrics. The best out of the best, that is.

"If you want to be absolutely crushed by your emotions within your first listen this is a must."

MIM is more gritty and morbid in places, plus it doesn't really have any filler so I rate it a lot more

Meat Is Murder is criminally underrated, title track is the only bad moment there ahah.

Hmm...

Hard to say buddy. First half is absolutely gorgeous, album does dip in quality a bit towards the end though. I'd say all their albums are pretty closely ranked, if i had to choose a least favorite it'd probably the debut but even that one is pretty great.

Death of a Disco Dancer is a classic but that album is just patchy

Probably my fave too, but you also can't go wrong with rush and a push and stop me if you think you've heard this one before.

Rush and a Push is a jam agreed, also love Girlfriend in a Coma. You're right that is a strong first half

Absolutely. Too bad paint a vulgar picture and death at one's elbow can't quite live up to it, but unhappy birthday is a standout in that second half and i won't share you is a nice closer.

always thought Unhappy Birthday was a stinker, some of Moz's worst lyrics

Oh i think they're great actually, strangely as it seems i always loved that line 'because you're evil and you lie, and if you should die, i may feel slightly sad but i won't cry'.
