Even though it’s an oft imitated sound, post metal has still produced a lot of high quality albums in the last 20 years or so. Oceanic, Times Of Grace, Salvation, Wings Of Lead Over Dormant Seas etc are all stone cold classic albums for me and really stand the test of time. Every sub genre has derivative bands; it’s a redundant comment. Even when you look at some of the lesser known post metal bands, most of them have produced at least one high quality album (Minsk, Rosetta, The Ocean, Dirge, Latitudes).
