'theres like 400 levels of irony here and i don't know where it leads'
It leads to you missing out an important word
'hahah Jesus SOME tool fans are so insufferable' SOME not ALL
I also dont see any irony in that at all.
SOME tool fans' only way of fathoming that someone doesnt like it/them is they dont 'get it' Dont act like you havent heard or seen these people. It was addressing a comment that said exactly that.
Wheres the irony??? To point out, no I 'get' and listen PLENTY of prog and thats not the reason in the slightest.
Look up Irony again.

Hoping they release a regular version CD, or launch some more copies of the deluxe. I pre ordered the deluxe the day it was announced, but I don’t want to listen to it and have the case in my car (I live in SoCal and I’m worried the heat will fuck up the screen).
Need to buy one for the shelves, which shall remain unopened.
Starting to wonder if that’s it for the deluxe version. And maybe they’ll announce a “release” date for the regular CD.

I really wanted to love this. 7empest is fantastic. The rest of it just feels like Tool making a Phish tribute album. It’s not mechanically bad (in fact, I think Danny Carey especially sounds better than ever), but it just feels like a bastard child of Aenima/Lateralus left to fend for itself.

It does. It’s fucking awesome. The video is hypnotic and emotionally cathartic. The artwork in the booklet is really impressive.
$40 well spent. Sorry you didn’t like it more dude. I bet it’ll grow in time. It’ll click at some point. Could be months from now.

I am genuinely shocked by all the lukewarm reactions. I would expect anybody that loves Tool to fucking LOVE this album. It’s funny because every critic review I’ve read (aside from Fantano) has been a rave review, but mixed from everyone else.

Melon’s opinions on anything metal related tends to be absolutely awful anyway, so it’s no surprise

Dude, please do not compare Tool to Phish. I won’t have it. Just because this is jammy doesn’t mean it sounds like Phish. At all.

Probably not, tbh. If anything, I may grow to dislike it more. I’m one of those people that immediately considered 10,000 Days their most superior album, just for perspective. (It still is.)
