that's fair but for something as minimalistic as Pure Heroine, it's hard not to have them affect your overall perception of it. there's not a whole lot going on so naturally the lyrics play a bigger role

Unless it's like Zach de la Rocha yelling the same lyrics at me 2435321454321 times in one song I really can't be bothered to give a fuck.
|

I do, however, sometimes take notice of particularly good lyrics, e.g. MeWithoutYou.

for people like colton 'hypocrisy' is their north star in determining moral behavior, anything that can conceivably be considered hypocritical, whether real or not, automatically invalidates opinions they don't like. the right does it, the left does it. it reveals little more than a puerile desire to be 'pure' and to simplify a complex world that scares them. the truth is my silly list offended his moral sensibilities and now he's engaging in rhetoric to justify his reaction. Bad (or sick) guy.

"400 lux," "ribs," and "a world alone" are way beyond anything on this. "ribs" is the best but I love how emotionally inscrutable "400 lux" is. try to Name That Emotion you can't

Disagree I think the highs here hit just as hard as on PH.

I don't /really/ like any song from this that isn't "green light," which is an 8/10 to those other three tracks' 9/10.

i think i'm ok with saying the highlights on PH > the highlights here
i mentioned this a while back but i think this has been aging not as gracefully as it should be for me bc a lot of the production on this still sounded really fresh to me when it came out and doesn't as much now post-antonoff revolution

i still dunno if green light is my fav here tbh, but it's hard to argue that it doesn't have the most going for it. that or supercut, mmm
