No seriously though, what makes this awful for you? Like what constitutes as dreadful writing? Do you enjoy other progressive artists?

long-winded, incredibly boring instrumental passages, extremely irritating songs. just sounds uninspiring and uninteresting to me for the majority of the album. and yes, i do enjoy other progressive artists.

this isn't really progressive if we're being literal, just kinda sounds like old king crimson

True but I don't really use the literal definition. Just the association of the progressive music of the 60s/70s

"I'm not normally one to complain about other's ratings because it's petty as shit, but its hard for me to imagine disliking this album enough to rate it a 2.0 or lower. So either A.) Have no interest in progressive music/writing, B.) Are trying to be pseudo-hipster and rate low to annoy the majority of people who've dug this album.."

Or maybe it's just not for everyone.

my issue is that there are too many solos. i don't care that omar knows how to play guitar. write riffs, not solos.

Yh the instrumentals on this album are top notch, this album is pretty much perfect to me. I majorly dislike the rest of their discogrraphy though.

its not even weird, none of their other albums are as good as this one. Francis the mute is ok, but honestly it bores me.

Amputechture and Frances, the rest pale next to the first three. Although I do enjoy Noctourniquet quite a lot.

I like Bedlam and Octa better than Amp actually haha. Although Tetra and Viscera Eyes are two of their best tracks

Bloody loved the drumming on Bedlam, but it's pretty forgettable in retrospect.

Amputechture would be higher on my list, but it would be kinda tough to rank them for me.
