This alb actually rubs me the wrong way and sometimes bores me but it’s definitely some sort of major statement and I hold no ill will towards those who love it!! But I think I kinda have that “you got your shoegaze in my glitch!” feeling that the elements sort of detract from each other. But I couldn’t defend that opinion very well, it’s almost one of those “it’s /too/ perfect” thingies

I feel that way for plenty of artsy fartsy music (art pop, "experimental rock", prog, etc.), but I find these combinations seamless and intuitive, for more natural sound than I would have guessed.



Give their later one a try tho, much more conventional indie pop but with some progressive song structures.
