I don't know if I love him or hate him but Agent is a special egg.

It's weird, I heard some weird guitar wank that didn't feel like it contributed to the atmosphere and it reminded me of mid-era DT.

I don't hear anything remotely close to DT in Heritage. I will say, though, that it's my least favorite Opeth album because of how hollow and directionless it is

I know I'm probably way off, but it's hard to describe the guitar wank and organ fuckery that detracts from the atmosphere.

doesn't get more natural and free-flowing than Heritage [2]

how tf do you listen to Heritage and think Dream Theatre? [3]

Ommmgggg. Heritage is soooo fluid, organic, sincere, full of fun and experimentation and adventure, listen to it again.

Plus I get zero wankery from those keys, they're really tastefully done.

Maybe you just dislike those types of keys and dismiss them for wankery.

Yeah, that's probably what it is. it feels way too throwbacky for me.

Opeth is one of those rare bands that actually write what THEY want to write and not what is expected of them. Because of that, every album can at least be called sincere and from the heart, which I might appreciate just as much as the actual quality of the songs.

Is anyone's life complete before they can air drum the outro to Harlequin forest?

I don't think so.

The instrumental section towards the end of Baying of the Hounds is my air drum moment.

The heaviest sections of Baying of the Hounds sounds like Machine Head or Lamb of God to me sometimes haha

I can totally see the Lamb of God resemblance. There are some groovy af riffs on it.
