Straws Pulled at Random is my favorite here and I prefer the blue version of it.

“Orange drums and vocals with blue guitars and bass would be the perfect album."

in my limited experiences with both versions, i definitely like the sound of the orange when listening on a proper stereo system. I think the blue version sounds better on phones, computers, portable speakers, etc...

Yeah, I’m never gonna understand this band. It’s just a monotonous nondescript blob of never-ending mechanical chugs pummelling me like a jackhammer. Maybe some of you get off on that shit but I’m not in on the joke. Apparently this has groove or whatever but I can’t unearth anything of the sort

Probably the most perplexing “titan of metal” (in the internet sphere of respect / popularity, anyway) and if anything, they get worse in my grumpy old age

Have you also tried DEI? Maybe that style could work better for you.

But who knows, they just might not be your thing.

if you cant hear the groove and musical coherence in this band's work you have no ears

you shouldn't be thinking about their music too deep man. it's not the point. it's meant to be felt like any music. and they give plenty of clues in their music.

Nothing grooves like crazy. Just pay attention to how Haake notates his kicks off the riff patterns. That's how you pick out the grooves in the song.

I mean it’s coherent I guess (the narrow sound palate sort of lends itself to that), just this coherence is nothing when it sounds like ass

And yeah I’ve heard DEI Trif. My “fave” used to be Chaosphere because it had a mindfuck quality unlike anything else I’ve heard from them. Like they pushed their sound to the limit. But I was young and stupid so idk

Futures is probably right, you can’t really logic your way around this band. Feel it or don’t. I don’t. Whatever.
