AiC does seem to have a pretty strong fanbase on this site, prob stronger than that of either SG or PJ.
And imo, people who "know their grunge" are prob the ones who disagree the most amongst themselves.
Nirvana def has had the most mass appeal, since a lot of people who don't know the first thing about grunge listen to them. It's more or less a similar phenomenon to Metallica with regards to thrash.

"actually, some of us who "know their grunge" don't even make the comparisons"
It's not about comparisons, it's about preferring one band to another.

Now I just have to do all four discographies in one list. Don't think I won't. I'll have my work cut out for me catching up on the rest of Pearl Jam's stuff though.

"Okay. Whatever. I'm doing it. Soundgarden > Alice in Chains = Nirvana > Pearl Jam"
Nah, Soundgarden = Alice In Chains (both are fucking awesome) > Nirvana (a bit overrated) >>>>>>> Pearl Jam (highly overrated)

PJ hate seems fashionable on Sput for about the last couple of weeks or so.
Rooster was prob the one AiC song that first clicked with me.

Hm. Well lets see. I came of age in the early 2000s and listened to a lot of alternative rock radio during my formative years. I can recall plenty of Nirvana and whatever garbage was being played during the time but no Alice in Chains. Growing up I know I've heard "Man in the Box" and "Them Bones" plenty of times (both due to video games) but never "Would?". Then I looked it up a few days ago and was fairly floored.

@deathschool: no worries bro, at least you dig 'em (and by the looks of it, more than quite a few people). I dig Nirvana too, to an extent, it's just that I'd rather listen to the other 3 bands. I'd love to see your list btw, should be sweet.

I might stick to 90s Pearl Jam on said list to be able to manage it but I am definitely planning to make it soon.
