It doesnt. Totally underrated album that stands out as one of the best Industrial Metal albums. They took ideas off of Killing Joke and used it to expand their sound even further than they already did with Mental Vortex. Totally ditching the Thrash and going for some of the most cold and proggy Industrial music did great for them.

Grin took a lot off of Industrial

It sounds like pure groove to me. Granted there is overlap.

Extremities Dirt and Various Repressed Emotions provided a huge blueprint for Grin

Some Godflesh songs dont sound too far off from Grin either (Nihil and a fair amount of Pure)

Interesting. Is that based on a quote or is that something you discovered cross referencing them?

I have not heard anything from 90's killing joke, I should get on it.

Cross referencing. Dunno what Coroner actually feel about Killing Joke but I highly doubt they were unaware of the album.

Grin was actually the album that I used to get me into Coroner during High School, then this album I got into but their first three had to grow on me.

I wont assume they listened to it. But if it is obvious then it's obvious.
I've seen it compared with Chaos AD.
I think Mental Vortex was the only one I checked back in high school. I revisited them and listened to their albums chronologically later on.
