Spencer's cleans are better than Aaron's [24123421321]

Just seems to have more variety with his cleans. Aaron is still great

This album is heavy as balls and the last Underoath album I checked out
|
| |
Yea Aaron just does one thing, Spencer is a lot more diverse.
I will say that while this album does have some nice experimentation, it does lack the more free-flowing songwriting that the previous two had. Way more repeated choruses than on the previous two
That being said it’s definitely the most dense and atmospheric thing they’ve done imo

Spencer and Aaron trade off on the new song, Spencer does the call and Aaron the response
|
| |
Yea it was kinda sad seeing Aaron leave the first time but Spencer flexing his talent here is also great

How come? I figured most people got into em from TOCS, when Aaron was most prevalent. But idk for sure

There were quite a few fans that were salty about him leaving.

Underoath fans as a whole love Aaron. The Underoath fans on this site are just weird.

I’ve never said that I don’t like Aaron to be fair

I've been listening to this so much since UO dropped the new song that I'm well-prepared for extreme disappointment. I know I'll still enjoy it like the fanboy I am, but this just rips so goddamn hard that I'm unsure they'll ever reach these levels again without DD on the drums.
Also this very review has always been the sterling example of what a review should be. Definitely the best.

Really getting into this band. In Division is fucking godly and intense

Is there any other band that made such a dramatic shift in sounds towards a heavy direction? On TOCS they were kinda heavy, but the change from that album to this is huge

Also realizing now the vocals in Cult Leader sound quite alot like Spencer here

this isn't that much heavier than their old stuff
senses fail became a sick hardcore band for 2 albums but now they're back to the usual lame stuff

i feel privileged that both times i saw Underoath were without Aaron, cause honestly that probably won't ever happen again
he fucking owned the crowd, played a heavy amount of cuts from this, and nailed all of Aarons parts perfectly... maybe even better in certain ways.

I’ve seen them six times, including their “final” show, but I haven’t seen them since they got back together. They’ve always been great live
