onion I forgot about the longer jam of I Came as a Rat and Perfect Disguise outro song, I should jam Parlour Tricks again. It also has Night on the Sun, one of the band's best songs.

I'll probably check all their EP's save their last and first one tbh

No One's First and You're Next should be heard by everyone at least somewhat familiar with their newer albums, 'cause it's full of fantastic B-sides from Good News and We Were Dead.

Parlour tricks is probably my 4th favorite MM release. Has the atmosphere of this but is way more relaxed. I love it

And yeah night of the sun is a great tune

It's just poignant and really deep, I don't get hugely depressing vibes very much like with The National or plenty of Radiohead songs.

I still kind of think LCW might be as depressing if not a bit more. It's just very consistent.

Lonesome Crowded West is almost humorous in it's delivery but in a very cynical way, which is why a lot of the poppier catchier songs are still pretty depressing. Here the lighter tracks aare not as cynical but they have a depressing undertone.

I'd say LCW is more consistently depressing but this is more personal.

Agreed

LCW is rawer and more cynical than this, with more existential angst, especially with songs like Cowboy Dan.
