What are the others?
I'll start with a compliment: Aside from the singer (who isn't terrible, just mediocre), they are a
talented bunch when it comes to execution.
However, their songwriting is a mess. The songs just seem elaborate excuses to glue together a large
bunch of snippets of them playing some random stuff for 20-40 seconds. Played virtuously, of course.
The lyrics are painfully bland and cheesy and don't seem to add or relate to the music that's being
played behind. I'm not saying the lyrics/singing are an afterthought, but they do make it seem that
way.
If this album were instead a collection of those snippets with the vocals taken away it could be a
3 for me.

Btw, my actual rating for this is a 2 - 2.5 but I gave it a 1 to piss off bloc years ago.

I see where you're coming from. To be fair though, I think they were trying to go for that stop on a dime and change tack with the riffs aesthetic a lot of the time. I don't particularly like it either and it's particularly jarring on PII when they keep going from metal to ambient without any kind of segue.

I literally cannot understand this point and I see it come up so many times now. Spencer's vox have gotten so much better over the years. The lyrics are more personal cause' he wrote them for the second album and I personally loved his direction and personality on the album. Some say that he was being a "Try hard" with his screams, no, that's how he screams now.

I'm not talking about the lyrics just the delivery. I thought his screams were decent but the cleans sound fucking horrible to me. They aren't bad, I just don't like them at all.
