haha nice eno, that soundoff owns

If anything's been proven by sputnik's reaction to this it's that there is in most cases a moment where it clicks and people are like, "holy shit this is about me right now."
I really hate this justification.
|
| |
why
|
| |
cause it hasn't happened to him yet.
|
| |
i'm on the fence but basically because it's sort of a cop out--anyone who says they dont like something can basically be dismissed that way ("oh, but it clicks!"). some albums do click, but it's sort of unfair to relegate people who don't like an album as people who "just haven't gotten it yet"
|
| |
yeah like not to start an argument or anything but a lot of people are talking like sooner or later everyone is destined to love this album which is pretty silly

why
|
| |
why what
edit: that being said i will always love this album because it's awesome musically and pumped up and
all that but i a pretty sure that's it; i don't think i'll ever have an epiphany with the lyrics
(they're just not my type; effective yes!), although if certain people keep posting ridiculously over
the top things about the lyrics i might start to hate them ;)

a lot of people are talking like sooner or later everyone is destined to love this album which is pretty silly
why is that silly. it's pretty much obviously hyperbole, but the hyperbole comes from something that's pretty strong.
for me this was immediate. but heaps of people, especially on the site, have been like "holy shit i get it now" and end up loving it. it's not like the whole jane doe thing where people are pressured into liking it and called faggots for not liking it etc.
i dunno. if there was an argument for the existence of music it would be this album

also robertsona it was a why in reply to emim not you guys i posted it too late
|

"if there was an argument for the existance of music it would be this album"
what does this mean?

when people tell me they "don't really listen to music" when i ask them what theyre into which is actually a depressing amount of people i show them this album
if i was one of those people and i listened to this album i'd be like oh i like music now
|
| |
yeah that's you personally man. that's why it's silly to say everyone is destined to love this.
it's like i don't think everyone in the world would eventually love my favorite album shit just doesn't work like that

romulus i think you should probably take statements like that with a grain of salt
or two
|
| |
alright no worries it's just the prevailing attitude around this you know? kind of like what robertsona said earlier-- "it's sort of unfair to relegate people who don't like an album as people who "just haven't gotten it yet""
|

titus andronicus hater-apologist
