I think it’s cause it’s so experiential and personal to him and there’s no sense of imposing spirituality on anyone else — If anything he actively tries to say that nothing he’s saying should hold any weight at all. As someone in a similar spiritual vein as him, I respect him a lot.

quite true and very well phrased.

i would say as well, though their music is rarely explicitly political, it is nonetheless informed by progressive politics in a manner that makes his lyrics inherently inclusive and free from judgment (though not self-judgment)

it’s a genuine joy for me when people dive into mwY and appreciate those aspects of Aaron’s lyricism.

also I found out something funny about this record: apparently when they were recording Orange Spider, Aaron laughed during his take because someone in the band recorded over the reference track saying a raunchy joke lol.

An open letter to Sowing;

I realise this 3.0 from a reputable user such as myself may seem like the final nail in the coffin, but rest assured that life goes on. I'm sure you will come back stronger, once the dust has settled.

This is not a witch-hunt.

Signed, Demon.

I had roughly the same feeling when I rated Integrity Blues a 3 and then it actually did drop. Oops :/

Big mistake. It isn't even my favorite song on here. Get the torches and the mob.

now honestly they're better than they've ever been live. ever since aaron used two mics starting with Ten Stories they've been trying to nail the mix, but they got a new sound guy and the last time I saw them a few months ago was the best they've ever sounded. especially if they're headlining

I have seen them 5 or 6 times. There was only one time where they weren't great and I blame it on the venue. The sound was awful. Was opening for Circa on the OLG anniversary tour.

yeah that was the only show I've seen from them that wasn't that great either. I caught that tour in LA -- but their setlist was relentless. Banger after banger, but aaron was super low in the mix
