It's not bad, but it's one of their least consistent

I think it's one of their most consistent and least interesting and dynamic

Consistently average yeah.

A Fair Judgment is pretty good though so I guess that's the exception.

Last 2/3rds of Masters Apprentices is good too, but most of the songs here are just boring or go on way longer than it should

For Absent Friends is just as good as Patterns in the Ivy if not better

Patterns is nicer, but only just and they're both better than Goblin!

Goblin is more of a full song like Marrow and Epilogue so I don't know about that, all are great thogh

Marrow is better than Goblin imo, but Heritage t/t is my favorite instrumental of theirs

Heritage t/t does the same job as Prologue for me and I wouldn't say it can stand on its own two feet

Yeah they're basically just interludes/intros

Yep. I can't listen to April without Prologue, however Marrow, Patterns and Goblin all work fine on their own

Yeah, I just think it perfectly captures the essence of the album and opens it in a great way. I mean, those interludes and intros can't possibly be compared to the actual songs, but they work very well at what they're supposed to do

Bumped, get rid of By the Pain and this is perfect.

Also, why does Stagno like bashing good bands?

i've never been into power metal at all tbh, and i hate when people praise metallica

anyway, there are a lot of reviewers here who have rated "good bands" a lot lower than the average (and pitchfork is completely in its own league)
