Eh, yeah it's more of a whole album listen or just New Grass tbh

New Grass is intensely meditative. It’s hard to not feel at peace listening to it.

I'm not trying to convince anyone. People are convinced of this album's value so maybe I'm missing something. That being said, trashing these two Talk Talk albums on this site is more of a past-time for me now and I don't intend to stop my periodic presence.

On the contrary, I can't think of many albums at all that use space better than this one

weirdly zorg i actually completely see where you're coming from despite this being my favourite album and possibly favourite thing; i just like that it manages to meander while simultaneously somehow sounding perfectly constructed in a way where every note makes sense, and I like that what at first seems like easy listening was me not listening hard enough (although i still understand why you'd think that!). idk magic happened here

"Where are the songs? This album is full of pretentious moody noodling and turns out of be no more than an annoying meandering bore. It's not brilliant, it's not spiritual, and it's sure as hell not a masterpiece. It's a hollow waste of time. Not even good background music."

"There is a fine line between meditative and meandering. "
This isn't wrong. I just land on the side of meditative. This was a massive grower though. I disliked it for a couple years and only really enjoyed it after revisiting. Depends where you're at in your life and with your tastes
