Grand Conjuration does rule, even if it does drag slightly towards the end.

The intro and outro is pure evil and the growling part is brutal but it lacks the diversity which makes the other songs so awesome for me.

The Grand Conjuration is pretty repetive musically but it has such great atmosphere and enough cool moments to be on par with the other heavys even if they're all better

Yeah, the atmosphere is really haunting but due to the repetitiveness the track loses replay value a bit.

Also c'mon Pleb, saying The Grand Conjuration drags slightly is the biggest understatement ever.

That's like saying the last two albums have been slightly horrible

JT I just meant it isn't inferior to the rest of the album, a lot of people think there's a big quality gap between it and songs like ghost of perdition and harlequin forest

lol Underflow. PC kinda sucked though, I'm with you on that one.

I know Talons, I'm just messing with you about the way you worded that. You completely contradicted yourself haha.

Half the songs here drag but grand Conjuration doesn't quite have the foundation to justify it the way the others sort of have

Aside from Conjuration and maybe Atonement (a bit) no song here drags imo. They are all perfectly balanced and interesting from beginning to end.

Hounds, mire, and isolation years are the only ones that don't drag in some way or end slightly underwhelmingly, but all the songs are amazing so it's not much of a detriment

I kinda have a hard time with opeth. I like a number of songs and I listened to Watershed all the way a long time ago but every time I try to go through like Blackwater park or something I end up stopping

i can listen to any black metal band with 10 plus minute songs but opeth's long songs seem like more of a chore than they should be to me

That's not a problem for me at all, I only have this when I go through albums.

"every time I try to go through like Blackwater park or something I end up stopping"

That's understandable.
