I like the opening track as much as the next guy, and most of the other songs but I have to say that the last third is what makes the album for me. Sometimes through Soon is an incredible stretch of music.

It's a perfect opener though not one of mine either I gotta say. As I said, I find the album reveals itself later on.

I've said this before but Only Shallow is an awful opener, its energy level is completely out of whack with the rest of the album and completely throws off the listener given that the first song pumps them up while every other song is relaxing. It'd be like starting off the planet earth documentary with a car chase, followed by 'yes the world is a crazy place, full of mysteries like tortoises...'
