what clay said is pretty accurate. just take the song concubine. the instrumental is very solid, especially within the guitar work. but the vocals...itll take some time to adjust to them i guess.

The vocals are fine. I wouldn't change a thing about them. The guitar work, the production and the songwriting are what really make this album great, though.

I don't blame you. The vocals, and the whole sound of the record in general, are really draining. I've only listened to this album all the way through two or three times.
