After a few listens I think "Distance and Meaning", "The Broken Vow", "Heaven in Her Arms", "Thaw" and, of course, "Jane Doe" are the best. Really surprised that I like it, because stylistically the album's not far from say, Slayer. But yeah, the "cathartic" element certainly is there, most obviously in the refrain of "Heaven in Her Arms". Still ain't gonna bother with the concept though - if you want your lyrics appreciated you should probably make them at least partially audible ffs.

but yeah most of the supposed lyrics aren't even actually screamed here but that's completely fine, you don't really even need the lyrics to comprehend jacob's hatred and anxiety
