I liked this the first few times I listened to it but now it just seems pretty bad and has very little replay value

I think title track is fundamental in the album, one of my fav songs among all songs existing in the universe
|
| |
The vox on this irritate me a bit (could use some variety) and I have no idea what the lyrics are about, but other than that the album is pretty fucking great. Heavy Red Medicine?

Definitely read the lyrics. They're very well written.

Title track slander? Nawwww

Heavy Red Medicine?
They're not dissimilar; glad you picked that up. One of the earliest things people hear about this record is that took a bit of influence from '90s post-hardcore stuff like Fugazi and The Jesus Lizard. I love how subtle that element is despite its profound importance to the uniqueness of this album.
And yeah, title track is perfect.

Hell to Pay is by far worst on here I'd say. But still it's crucial for the tracklist to work as well as it does.

hell to pay is rad
worst on this is distance and meaning
|
| |
honestly couldn't pick a worst; it's just such a consistent album. "distance and meaning" definitely seems a bit out of place, at least at first, but it's just as good as the rest of the album in every other respect.

distance and meaning is worth it for the drums alone.

Distance and meaning has the best chorus on the album
