And from three people I would naturally assume would love this. What the hell is going on. This is _the_ Midwest emo record (please dear god don't say "but Cap'n Jazz!" or "but The Brave Little Abacus" or "but Algernon Cadwallader").
To be fair, my relationship with emo is...complicated, so I wouldn't say this is a natural love for me. Though this does play more like indie rock than emo so I get where you're coming from.

This had an innovative sound at the time but it's been played out since. I'm not surprised the younger crowd aren't blown away by this record.
