If anything, he's in the best shape he's been in since pre-pandemic. Saw Crosses last year and it was such a stark comparison to seeing him w/Deftones in 2023, it was like he was suddenly 10 years younger for all the energy he was putting on display.

Has that really happened with Deftones? I think pretty much everyone had minds made up about Gore by the time it dropped, Ohms is pretty universally liked I feel… idk I don’t see too many people turning on this record.



To me it’s easily their best since KNY and that’s literally my favorite album of their’s, so well done boys.

It’s not one of their best, but I like all of their albums so whatever. Error specifically is one of their best songs ever, and I really love Genesis, Urantia, Headless, and the title track.



Since their audience is a bunch of zoomers now and not just cranky old fucks I don’t see the reception on this changing too much. Might drop to a 3.9 but probably won’t go lower, and it shouldn’t. It’s better than Ohms and if it’s avg dropped lower that would annoy tf out of me.

Yeah, well deserved 4 average. I have to say this is better than the previous two albums by quite a margin - I love Ohms (and Gore, maybe not as much, but I still do love it - this is one of their better modern releases but they will never reach the heights of when White Pony and/or Diamond Eyes came out.

As someone who is barely familiar with the band and a fan of Chino from his work on Palms, this is great. Production is flawless. Diverse song writing. Glad I took a deep dive into the band.

I'd love to have another album by Deftones, but I wonder where would they go next from here? Anything else remotely similar to this or the last two might just kill all hype for this band. I'd actually love for them to just go balls out heavy for the next release but I also know Chino's voice isn't what it used to be for that.
