Daron is my favorite guitarist ever. I even bought a Iceman when I turned 18. Shit's catchy & heavy

"Daron is great at writing simple but effective riffs."

So he's basically the opposite of John Pertucci

Literally everything that was good about DT at one point was bad about them some years later lol.

"I thought you meant petrucci is great at writing complicated and ineffective riffs"

^that's exactly what I meant though. Doesn't mean their 90s stuff isn't stellar imo

I disagree, but chuckled nevertheless.

Also in the simple but effective riff HoF: Jerry Cantrell, Steven Wilson, Adam Jones

Page riffs may sound simple, but the dude is a trickster.

Yup, that's what I heard too. And for the life of me I haven't been able to figure out the pretty ascending chords in Milquetoast.

Aerials and toxicity are the best jams here

Yeah, Page has a bunch of jazz guitar experience, even studying it in college as well as playing in a number of avant-garde groups. It's funny how Helmet's his most popular group, because it might be the least representative of his overall style
