If I remembered correctly I'm guilty as hell saying it, but I was way more into 'The Real Thing' by Faith No More in that era until this one came out... Not that I didn't like Peppers in the 80's but to me this is a total different ballgame where I was truly a fan.

As far as sounding dated goes.. I'm not too sure; I felt the opposite when it came out. Their 80's sounded like it belonged in the 80's. When Pepper's dropped this it sounded so funky fresh! It was a great record to kickstart the 90's.... new and improved I call it.
Oh yeah dude; that's what I'm saying.. bro I was way more into FNM until this one came out.. shook it up..

I thought they were a hip hop act before this came out, Think I only heard higher ground and fight like a brave I think, and did not think too much of them, till I heard the whole album, actually I think the last 5 albums are probably their best

Mother's Milk is so fun yeah Jeff, my second favorite behind this one by a very small margin. I'd probably have OHM over Californication tho but its a tossup.
