Well in an a WILD turn of events, tilian is was back from covid quarentine at tonight’s show in Chicago anddddddd Jon Mess was out :/ swan and wells did their best trying to cover but it just felt wrong seeing DGD perform exclusively IG songs through their new album without Mess their to provide the grit. Great show, but just not the same.

They didn’t say, but I’d assume covid since that is why tilian missed the 3 previous shows. The world of touring has changed! You don’t know what musicians will be able to show up each night.

What a weird record. I remember when it first came out I didnt love it, then the more I listened I did love it, and now returning to it again this is so all over the place.
The back half way exceeds the front though

ehh, idk i feel like there's no consistently great run on the album. my biggest ughh spots on the album (from memory)
the first half of Prisoner, specifically the tilly parts
everything that's not the intro and big outro of One In a Million
all of Strawberry's Wake, idk this one is just annoying to me at this point
same with everything after the scream intro in Born To Fail
and the chorus in Say Hi does nothing for me
so that's 5/13 songs that have things that I don't like and considering most of those have some things I really love (Say Hi mess parts are top tier) this album isn't really in that bad of shape. doesn't change the fact that it's still a pretty stale release for them at this point but 3.5 sounds about right

No I agree completely. Its all over the place. Even Parallels.... the Tilian parts are awful and the Mess parts are amazing

i like Parallels cuz it's definitely different but it is the definition of all over the place. no cohesion whatsoever

I remember seeing dgd for the X anniversary with Kurt and Jonny and they performed all the classics and that's the memory I want to preserve indefinitely for this band. Summertime Gladness would be so cool to see live tho

"all the singles on this album are trash"
Prisoner dude. I even remember everyone being hyped for this album bc Prisoner was so well received upon release

"I remember seeing dgd for the X anniversary with Kurt and Jonny and they performed all the classics and that's the memory I want to preserve indefinitely for this band."
I went that that gig, there was like 50 people there haha, it was awesome. Also prisoner is awesome, and probably the only song i can actually remember from this album.

Night Sway is one of the highlights for me on here, not necessarily memorable but a back to basics jam. I don’t get why ppl hate it so much.

Night Sway is a great back to basics jam and huuuuuuuuuge agree on Prisoner still, like yes the last 30 secs are obviously great but there is nothing interesting, especially on the tilly side that is going on in the first part and i'll never understand the hype.
