Flee has definitely grown on me. I officially don't dislike it anymore

Flee is the biggest grower on this whole damn thing.

I think AB:Life is worth a listen. For a debut record, it's very very good, and it provides a lot of context for their growth in subsequent records. mewithoutYou doesn't become the band we know today until Catch Us though, and they don't fully find themselves until Brother,Sister. B,S is probably the best place to start with them, and then work backwards or forwards as you wish.

Yeah, I was a part of the Dogma Free society for a while in college, and it was good to find a community again, but it wore off me when I realized every meeting was a rendition of:

"So, umm, God, pretty fucking stupid, yeah?"

Which was as much a disservice to spirituality as dogma in itself is.

you are just as likely to find references to islam/judaism than american-style christianity in mwy's music

more likely, actually

^ that's true of every album after CFUTF, which is pretty darn evangelical (and still a hard 4.5)

Also, to return to the general hype train, this is currently sitting at #3 on my AOTY list, but honestly any of the albums in my top 5 could be #1 depending on my mood (Typhoon, Rolo Tomassi, mwY, Republic of Wolves, or new Emery)...this has been a very good year for me, musically

‘Brother, Sister’ doesn’t appear to be on Spotify, I’ll check some of their other stuff though.

Thanks. Yeah I have other means but I’m lazy & Spotify is so convenient. I’ll get on it in time.
