Let me introduce you all to Chiawonka - the long, lost third cousin nephew of my little sister, Pereko. Pereko loves to SOAK records, especially That's the Spirit.

Pereko thinks That's the Spirit is the best album of the last 20 years

That thread's been more active recently but there's less negativity.

I dream of a day in which BMTH (who, to be honest, happens to be the biggest rock band in the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia at the moment) puts out a double-decker album, maybe 12 or 13 cuts on each disc. And this double-decker record will have 24-26 total tracks in the same vain as That's the Spirit. That would probably be the best "album" ever created in this history of humanity and mankind.

you know what makes this record so incredible?

The fact that Oli isn't afraid to transverse and opikulate into brand new boundaries, to challenge new genres, to do what his heart believes in, to change the sound of such a timeless band, and to most importantly, orchestrate a bunch of tracks with such precision, delivery, and technicality, that critics 30 and 40 years from now will be calling this one of the best rock records of 2000-2020.

This is one of those albums I only listened to one time and the complete lack of engagement, or maybe just my indifference toward it, makes me wish I'd never commented on the thread. And then JoyousRide08 comes along and makes every bump worth it.

Haha you're lucky man! I gave this about 10-15 plays because I really liked There Is A Hell and Sempiternal but it is just not good.

@shemson I guess I played this right and its a good thing I didn't waste my time. I may have given this one full listen, might have it made it through and like you I loved there is a hell and liked sempiternal quite a bit.

I kept trying to justify it in my head as well before it came out. I was like 'well they did Drown for bbc and it's actually pretty catchy so it's ok' then I was like 'well Happy Song isn't very good but it'll just be the catchy first proper single off the album so it'll still be cool'... Then the album dropped and Happy Song is probably the heaviest track haha

It's not the lack of heavy that I have an issue with, it's the lazy writing of songs and lyrics

If the lyrics were stronger and the songwriting wasn't so generally uninspired this could've been good.
