Kayo Dot is in the studio, recording with the gang who went on tour for Choirs Anniversary, so it's maudlin/Choirs crew

New kayo dot with that lineup would be insane. Btw I exchanged some mails with Toby talking about merch for European fanboys like me. Shipping from the USA was ridiculously expensive (70+€ for one shirt was crazy). It seems they managed to get a dutch distro to print officially licensed shirts. They're up on Bandcamp already!
PS: what an album this is...

Definitely their best metal record. Choirs is great, but this shits all over Choirs ad infinitum.

I certainly prefer Choirs / Dowsing to this
I'm unfortunately yet to embark on a journey beyond these 3 KD albums, even tho I keep reminding myself that I should

This def does not best Choirs. Or Dowsing.
Coyote is probably my favorite, but I don't think it's their best output.

Yeah this album is insane from start to finish but nothing tops Choirs and I think the fact that they followed this up with Dowsing is one of the biggest feats any musician has ever accomplished.

Correct.
In all honesty, this particular album is KD at their metal peak.

What a colossal work of art this is. This and Choirs belong to the pantheon of music. Imagine writing two albums so sublime.
Only this band could make a transition from a best closer of all time worthy track like The Second Operation to a chaotic one like Floodgate work, extending the album to the point of transcending music. The kind of record that strikes as much more than music. An emotional voyage, a vital experience akin to a philosophical book about the meaning of life
