Yeah Deftones is probably the most highly revered nu metal/nu-adjacent band there is outside of like RATM and SOAD... I’ve only seen like quirky hipsters and people who don’t like metal in general hate on them tbh.

Interesting, but no. There was critique on Chino's vocals. Other than that it was simple indifference on everything else, except SNW, which was unanimously disliked (below my gushing write-up for it lol).

Imo discog runs are never effective when you're new to the band. You get tired out quick. Best to do one album per 4+ days

Yeah, we usually do one album a day but when it comes to bands like this a few days to soak it in would be better. I also wasn't too big on most of Deftones' records when I first heard them.

Interesting, I’m the exact opposite. It’s rare that I dislike a Deftones track. There are some that feel inferior to the surrounding songs (a few off the top of my head are Graphic Nature, Lucky You, Pink Cellphone, Moana, Mein, Pittura infamente etc — but this, even those are still good songs. Deftones and Chevelle are probably the most consistent rock bands right now.

I get why people don’t like it. I really do. Still bangs though man, even if it’s kinda cheesy. I remember seeing the video on MTV all the time back in the day. Fucking awesome video, which probably contributes to my leniency on it.
