The part that gets me the most is that Clayman is regarded as a universally beloved discog classic on par with TJR - Colony. Even into the mid 00s there were people who saw it as their sellout moment.

I view this as the perfect meshing of their older sound and newer sound, stuff like Take This Life being some of the most aggressive writing they'd ever done. A Sense of Purpose was a step down but it did have my fav song they ever wrote in The Chosen Pessimist
