The guitar tone alone is iconic on Black Hole Sun.

P.S. Probably not a good idea to diss music when the songwriter just died and everyone is still reeling and reminiscing.

Like Suicide is a 5/5 song Ins, the chorus is so beautifully depressing.

"not a good idea to diss music when the songwriter just died"

It will get some attention, though. And maybe, for some, that is the only way to be validated.

And you know, maybe someone will recognize how correct your negative observations are, and you can become good friends and finally have someone to talk to.

I have a weird love/hate relationship with Black Hole Sun. Its a good song, but if I had to rank all of the songs on this album, it'd be somewhere around the middle. Its one of the "safer" songs, but was also crucial to their mainstream success.

"My Wave" is the only bad song here. Everything else is gold.

lol. Though I can totally see why some people don't like that song. I just like how upbeat it is.

Also, great reference to one of the worst Reznor hooks ever.

I love that song, but mostly because of the badass 5/4 riff

It doesn't fit well with the rest of the record. "Spoonman" doesn't either, but that has better songwriting going for it.

My Wave is definitely the worst song lyric wise.

I like My Wave at track 2, works well between Drown and Fell On

How do others feel about the remaster? I only listened to it after he died and I'm really liking it. The bass and drums drown out the guitar and vocals a bit, but I feel like it adds to the general vibe of the album.

Definitely a bit too loud, but not as bad as most remasters I've listened to.

My Wave single-handedly turned me off this album foe the longest time and I would easily say it's the worst here even though I've learned to appreciate it. The instrumentation work is p tasty, but yeah the lyrics are bad

Don't know, really like lyrics and riffing alike. Chris' performance is so passionate I never thought about the lyrics as bad or something.
