It seems many bands that were strong in the early 90's kinda lost their strength later on down the road. Ofc, the degree to which that happened is debatable.

I have Fragile 3.5'd so nope. Too much filler.

Lots of great stuff too
It's hard to find a Double without filler

Album Rating: 4.5
Exactly though, the amazing stuff is what makes it a 3.5 instead of a 2.5.
If you were to take 1 disc worth of the best songs from The Fragile, it'd probably be at least a 4.5 for me.
With that said every song on Year Zero is necessary and amazing so I don't know how it doesn't get more love. Probably because it's not angry at the world and himself Nine Inch Nails like everyone supposedly wants.

well look at Hesitation Marks

Album Rating: 4.5
I liked Hesitation Marks, which mostly is the normal formula for NIN with some extra electronic beats. Gave it a 4.
Honestly I'm not one to say older NIN is better than newer NIN.

Older is miles ahead honestly

Not even a little. People just get all pissed when a band changes their musical formula too much. I honestly welcome it.
If anything that was Hesitation Mark's biggest flaw, Trent was trying too hard to bring back the Broken/Downward Spiral fans on some of the songs.

With Teeth gets a bit too much hate honestly
Ghosts is a nice experiment
The Slip was disappointing.

Album Rating: 4.5
I love With Teeth a lot actually. It literally only gets hate because he drastically went in a new direction.
The Slip is better than most people think it is, but yeah I still have it sitting at a 3.5 since it's not amazing.

Haven't heard Year Zero enough to form an opinion

Just don't expect an angst filled heroin addict who feels like shit, but instead a post-apocalyptic government overthrow and you'll love it.
