Homme's vocals sound disingenuous as heck, especially on Villains. QOTSA s/t aint bad tho.

'Homme's vocals sound disingenuous as heck, especially on Villains'
Well there's your problem, regarding Villains as a QOTSA album worth bringing into this debate. Listen to Like Clockwork & tell me Garcia is a better all-round vocalist, because I don't see it at all.
QOTSA without Homme's vox would definitely not be the same, whereas although Garcia's vox work well enough, Kyuss would also work with a different vocalist.

Every now & again I do a 'rating revamp' & this would probably be one of my first demotions. I might save myself some time & do it now.

I know this is another "Stereotypical Metalhead Opinion", but it must be said.

hard to say for me. i mean kyuss never really had any duds like queens did but they really didn't last long enough to get stale.

At the end of the day, both bands have quite a different sound and move around in their own territory. Kyuss has more of a Black Sabbath "crush" factor with an attitude that's indebted by both hardcore punk as well as old school metal, while at the same time they toy around a bit with psychedelic atmospherics.
QotSA more concentrates on bringing a groovy, danceable rock 'n' roll vibe; though of course they take their experimental turns as well. With Queens the slightly experimentalism feels more concise and less expansive.
The only thing both really have in common is that both bring this desert roadtrip vibe to their music, even though both do it in their own peculiar way
