Yes yes yes you do Ars. All of them are cool hihihi, I feel this very strongly. But it's a lot too! Which ones did you hear?

Cocteau Twins are ok. Classic in their own right but also kind of overrated at the same time? Like I respect the band more than I actually like their music.

I love 'em, especially Treasure

Might pick Garlands next

There's something about them that resonates very strongly with me. And they've got quite a driverse discog feels-wise. And Fraser is just godly. Truly. I think I like the Treasure era (including the EPs!!!) the most too.

Dream pop rules

Especially the stuff that's less on the shoegaze side (although they originally meant the same thing???) whatever, they evolved to mean different things... kinda like alternative rock and indie rock

They're very real about it too. Is that lame to say? I feel they're genuinely dreamy but they mix it up with some pretty gritty and heavy stuff too. I hope this makes sense.

Yeah kinda, by gritty stuff you mean songs like Persephone and Cicely right?

Yeah and I gather you haven't heard the debut yet. That's some seriously dark stuff ooof.

Ah you've heard their four best ones in my opinion then. But the others are mega good too. Garlands and Head Over Heels are very dark, Four Calendar Cafe and Milk & Kisses are much poppier, as you'd expect after Heaven Or Las Vegas. Like all of them.

Fraser is an amazing singer and shines particularly on her massive attack feats. And Cocteau Twins is definitely some of the best dream pop I've heard (treasure particularly) but here's the catch:

I hate dream pop production

I don't know if I like this as much as thier other stuff" I don't know whether you'd really enjoy the first two then, but you might as well try!

You could also go for their middle-era EPs then Ars, they're super lovely! They have sooooo many great B-sides and they've released a nice box set that collects all of them chronologically. It's called Lullabies to Violaine.
