Yeah, Stanne's cleans weren't the best here. I don't mind them though.
But seeing that song live is awesome, especially during the Construct tour. His cleans obviously sounded much better, I actually liked it a lot better than the album version. Same goes for certain songs off Projector and shit.

Well, his cleans have improved in general since this album, especially on Construct and later. That's the main reason it sounds better live.
But I don't mind them that much here. Not good, but not bad imo. And at least they're used sparingly, really it's just Mundane and the Magic / Misery's Crown. Projector is a different story though. I'd love to hear a remake of that album with Stanne's current cleans.
I saw a live performance where Stanne sang the female parts in Insanity's Crescendo, like way back in the day. It was fkn awful lol

Revisiting this after a good long while. Probably my least listened to gold era record, but still, pretty awesome songwriting and diversity on this one, hate the production unfortunately. They lost so much punch on this one with all the compression going on
Stanne doing cleans is kind of a longtime thing anyway and I never minded them, obviously they're not his or the band's strength, but he pulls them off for the most part. Also, this album features probably Stanne's weakest growls ever (still didn't listen to the new one)

I actually like his growls on this album a lot.
But yeah I remember seeing them live years ago and in some live recordings online, his growl was pretty weak / raspy sounding
