I've seen youtube videos where he speaks, seems like a real serious guy.

Maybe it was just the context of the video then. But yeah torts based on his music he doesn't seem the laughing type and I don't want to experience that.

Ok, good to know that it's not completely just me.

I don't NEED to know the lyrics of all the music I listen to, but it can certainly help... especially if an album is regarded as an all time classic partly because of how emotional it is. I can feel the emotion in the music and his vocals, but it would be nice if I knew what he was actually screaming.

Oh well, right now I'm digging the music and I'll see exactly how much this continues to grow on me

izlez you bring up a fair point, but for me at least, I often prefer the lyrics to be more or less unintelligible in heavy music...not saying this about this album but they can be so lame or cliched that I'd rather just have the aesthetic of the vocals.

yeah dude seems super serious

there's plenty of recorded instances where jake makes jokes in vids, interviews, even on that converge live in minneapolis album where he's giving nate a ton of shit. he strikes me as serious when he's talking about serious stuff but when the conversation is casual he's just a normal dude. having said that, i couldn't imagine him "getting high and watching adventure time".

Doesn't seem to be a staple for metalcore, but Converge has been together way longer than the average band in this genre.

I'd take anything new, Christmas album or otherwise.

eh but if they just put out a christmas album and then no new studio album for another few years that'd fuckin suck

Agree. August Burns Red are one of my favorite bands and I'm still to actually give their christmas album an actual fair chance. God forbid Converge releasing something like that. Not only that would mean no actual original jams in years and just... why. Do it as a compilation or smth

Converge create a masterpiece with their album Jane Doe, which is an album that people who embrace it, will not forget it.
