Both rule in entirely different ways.

I mean probably only Metallica can compete with Maiden for the title of best live metal band, but Maiden didn't quite deliver so strongly in the riff department imo; although comparing anything to metal to Sabbath's riffs is, well, a losing battle.

Metal isn't all about riffs though, but it certainly does affect how much I like a metal band.
