I think it’s fun but tbh it would not fit on this record at all, Dead Cat transitions pretty much perfectly into Dead Internet and I think both of them being heavy as balls would just be a little much.

The bassline makes the song imo. The demo just feels so different because of it. That’s another thing that really makes this record stand out imo, obv the vocals are front and center for much of it but no single instrument dominates the mix. I love the production here. Somehow it perfectly captures every member without ever feeling pristine or artificial. Idk, as someone that’s seen them live many times, and if you got a decent set of cans, to me the album literally sounds like you’re in the room with them jamming

Greyhound, Looks Like Nothing, Gratitude, Hall of Frozen Heads, and Secret History are all timers

I need to revisit this. It didn't click with me when it came out.

This was an instant decade definer for me. One of those "when you know you know" releases. Last time something hit me so immediately was Carrie & Lowell and that ended up being my album of the 2010s.

Random but maybe it will give the boys some more traction on streaming services on that beautiful song

Of all the songs here it's definitely the most soundtrack-y, can't imagine Secret History playing in the background 😂

Honestly, that's exactly how I felt about new Moving Mountains. So happy I dig this one now though. Grew on me hard.

Glad to see it hawks!!
Hard agree with sowing, bands dead, records gonna be 3 years old soon, we’re well out of the honeymoon phase and it’s still my favorite album of all time.
I get to see Smidley in a couple weeks at least : D
