yea they never struck me as the relentless touring type of band. band members all do a lot of other things.

its an interesting conundrum though

i feel like this band more than any other i know has made it very clear they make very little money doing periphery, while also heavily advertising all the periphery-adjacent businesses that do

its obvious why they actually aren't doing a full tour, but they kinda can't flat out say it... so when they say "touring is hard and we make no money" it kinda comes off disingenuous when misha is flooding instagram with pics of his sports cars.

a metal band loyal to the bag is super uncommon and people don't know how to react i feel like. if this was a pop or hip hop act nobody would care

This is a case study in how to not critically review…anything.

Half of this review is just the author bashing a style of music he doesn’t like. Not exactly impartial. Didn’t even mention the album until about half way through. This was a rant, not a review

can't believe you wrote a review for a band you loathe this much knowing that you'd be irresistibly drawn back to this discussion for 71+ pages. a real exercise in masochism right there.

Site against anything djent except Meshuggah, all riffs no melodic hooks to latch on to, boring.

“ Site against anything djent except Meshuggah”

Now, imagine, if you will, what the case would be if Meshuggah didn’t djent? Unstoppable. Most djent bands could stop djenting and i still wouldn’t listen 💁‍♂️
