New album smokes Neon and Drift, step down from this though predictably. Turned out better than I thought it would, and the singles sound even better in context.

Slow Sour Bleed is a banger [2] Glimpse and Past Life Persona are two massive highlights as well

New one is gonna be a grower for people methinks. Not as immediately mind blowing as this but it doesn't need to be.

3.5 after 3 or 4 listens now. I feel like Jesse struggles a bit vocally.

Starts to fizzle out after Glimpse, Wave feels like just another song on the album instead of a closer

Singles definitely were the worst songs on the new album, though they're still pretty good. Early highlights for me are probably Idle Wild and Past Life Persona.

I liked it way more than I expected TBH

pretty good sign that the album is good when i think "is this the best riff erra has ever written?" like 30 seconds into the first song lmao

New one is my first proper listen of an Erra album despite this site hyping them lol

Gotta say, I'm really digging it. Where do I go from here

Listen to this, then skip the previous 2 and listen to Augment and Impulse.

Yeah, the riffs on Cure are great, but I don't think they're anywhere near the best Erra have released. Still slaps though

Rumor of Light is stellar, especially the solo. My current standouts as I respin are Past Life Persona and Glimpse. Album doesn't really have any skips for me, which is nice

I'm pretty conflicted on the new one. Every song has been fine enough so far (I'm 8 songs in) but the fun riffing I listen to this band for is almost completely gone. This floats really close to Spiritbox in terms of what the album is going for. I used to bemoan Jesse's wailing taking up too much space on previous albums but his vocals are so understated now that I actually kinda miss it. I wonder if he got tired of blowing his voice out live and having to do the mental gymnastics of writing/playing the most complicated shit ever while playing. This is definitely the most "chill" I've ever heard this band be.
